Gill

Nursery Manager

   SENCO

When I first started at Plaxtol Nursery School one of the first things that impressed me was all the opportunities available to the children. From preparing their own snack and cutting the fruit and veg to going on Nature walks and picking their own apples to make crumble with.
Seasonal walks around the local countryside, going to a local farm to watch lambs being born, strawberry picking in the Summer and lots, lots more.
All the children were engaged with the staff and the conversations going on were so interesting.  Staff were extending the children's ability to problem solve by encouraging them to think through their actions and possible outcomes.
I feel that we at Plaxtol nursery are one big Family and I am proud to be able to say that I am part of it. Paediatric first aid trained.

ALICE

Nursery Practitioner

Early Years Level 2

Hi my name is Alice. I have worked with children for over six years. I came to plaxtol in 2019 and couldn’t think of a nicer place to work.
I love working with children because it’s so rewarding, seeing children achieve and be proud of them self’s and knowing you helped them. Plaxtol nursery has great opportunities for children especially in forest school. I love the outdoors and seeing the children play outside is fantastic. The thing I love most about nursery is helping new children make friends and forming strong bonds with them myself. It’s so rewarding when you see a child settled and becoming more outgoing and excited to come to nursery. Plaxtol also has a fantastic team that make working their so nice as they are all so warm and caring. its always fun and laughter with the staff and children together.

Nursery Administrator

Cert EYP(Open)

I love working in childcare supporting children as they grow and develop, but with 3 young grandchildren I wanted to reduce my working hours.
When the nursery that I had been working in for over 19 1/2 years had to close due to the loss of its building I was given this opportunity to work at Plaxtol as a Nursery Administrator.
I am really excited to join such a friendly and caring team.
The nursery is lovely and bright with so many opportunities for the children to grow and develop both inside and out.
I am looking forward to being able to use my many years experience to support Dayo and the team.

Nursery Support

   Qualification

I have worked at Plaxtol Nursery School for almost three years supporting a child with special needs. I have loved every moment. I have 4 children that also attended the nursery. I have also previously worked as a nanny and childminder; working with some amazing children and families.

I was very happy to be given the job of supporting a child with special needs at the nursery. I am extremely passionate about my job and I have attended many training courses and Makaton sign language courses in order to be able to make sure that the I care for has my full support.

I could not work with a better team of people. We are all passionate about making sure we provide a great learning environment for our children and at the same time we are all very caring nurturing and we always put the children’s need first. I truly could not wish to be working in a better Nursery.
